Cancer Vaccine Collaborative
By creating a vehicle to allow academic investigators to conduct early stage clinical trials of therapeutic cancer vaccines in an environment that shares information and promotes learning over competition, the Cancer Vaccine Collaborative avoided $49 million in duplicated research and development efforts. This model is unique within the medical research community and services cancer immunology research. By collaborating, the Cancer Research Institute saved $8.75 million in operating staff and the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research saved $31.6 million in fundraising and development alone.
