YMCA/JCC Integration
The Jewish Community Center and Young Men’s Christian Association in Greater Toledo realized that they were serving similar populations at twice the cost and, as a result, decided to merge. The resulting YMCA/JCC campus is also home to organizations such as United Jewish Council, YMCA/JCC Community Center, Childcare Center, Holocaust memorial and Jewish congregations. As a result of combining, the organizations did not build a new YMCA which realized savings of $5-8 million. Staff consolidation alone saved $300,000 and there was administrative savings of $130,000.
